Xcode Coding tutorials
A couple I found quickly
Task No: | Task Heading | Duty | Content Summary | Date Set | Status | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Task 1 | 2D iphone Game | Daniel => Dean | This tutorial is just the first of many, that should end with a game that utilizes multiple object collisions, automated side-scrolling, and it keeps the player in the middle. Not a great example, but clean enough to have a look, though it uses sprite-kit, which could be a pro or con | 19/02/2016 | Pending | |
Task 2 | Mario Style game | Daniel => Dean | Again using Sprite Kit, this tutorial ends with a game that incorporates MANY usable features, however it is built so differently to ours, it’s barely usable as a comparison, and it looks you into use tiles, which we don’t, and the same techniques might not work for us (especially with the shadow and lighting mechanics) requires more research. It’s also much longer than the others – covers decent collision though | 19/02/2016 | Pending | |
Task 3 | Find More | Daniel => Dean | Continue to look around for more and better tutorials. Our main goal is to see the basics, compare it to what we’ve done to make sure we are on the right track, and then continue with our own project, using the unique mechanics we’ve built so far. I don’t think either of us are “experts” yet, so we need to cross the i’s and dot the t’s (yes that was intentional) to make sure we don’t get used to bad habits | 19/02/2016 | Pending |
After a quick online search, here are some tutorials I have found so far. I don’t know if they are any good, if the end result will be helpful, or if they use practices better than ours, all things we should be looking out for, these are just the first couple as a starting point
